Crabs of West Cork

I grew up in West Cork and living on the coast I walk on the many beautiful beaches regularly. I began collecting crab shells found on the beaches and became fascinated by the beautiful and intricate detail of each unique shell.
I decided to preserve and strengthen each shell using a clear epoxy resin and incorporate each one into a 3D illustration highlighting the beautiful colours, patterns and textures using watercolour paint.
I live in a farmhouse near Courtmacsherry and paint each piece from my kitchen overlooking the sea.
