Bio

Claire O’Shea, (artist name CiCi) is a mixed media artist living in Kinsale, Co. Cork. 

Her work spans portraits, abstracts, and animal art, all unified by her signature vibrant and expressive style. Pushing the boundaries of traditional painting, she uses diverse materials, including collage, spray paint, oil pastels, fabric, and resin to create her multi layered pieces.

Although a life long painter, Claire came to art as a second career and has painted prolifically since 2019, exhibiting often in this short time, including a solo show in 2023 titled Life is Neon.  Drawing on over two decades of experience in the field of holistic health, Claire views the canvas as a space for healing and introspection.

“My work expresses my fascination with the balance between fragility and resilience, highlighting the unseen stories beneath the surface. Through layered textures and a vibrant colour palette, I seek to create a sense of hope and reflection. My work invites viewers to connect with the human experience, encouraging empathy and introspection in an often disconnected world.”

Beyond the gallery, Claire hosts small-group and private creativity workshops in her home studio. These sessions merge her wellness expertise with artistic practice, guiding others to let go of perfectionism and embrace their innate creativity as a vital form of self-care and expression.
