“I like to incorporate coastal textures, leaving parts of the raw clay exposed for the tactile experience and as a reminder that, in the end, it all starts with mud.”

Bio
Celia O’Driscoll
Born and raised in Garrettstown, West Cork, I recently returned home from Aotearoa, New Zealand to reconnect with my roots after almost a decade away. It was there that I fell in love with pottery, and now I’m slowly transforming my Dad’s old milking shed into my own studio. Overlooking the Old Head of Kinsale and the wild Atlantic, this coastline is my constant inspiration.
With my deep connection to the sea, I strive to capture the ocean’s energy in clay. Though a water lover at heart, I love how pottery unites all the elements—earth, water, air and fire—each shaping the final piece. I like to incorporate coastal textures, leaving parts of the raw clay exposed for the tactile experience and as a reminder that, in the end, it all starts with mud.
