Bio

Mia Foley

Mia Foley grew up in Co. Cork. She graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design with a first class honours degree in Fine Art. She also trained there as an Art and Design Teacher.
In the year after graduating she won The Taylor Art Award, a National Competition for the most promising Emerging Irish Artists, presented by The Royal Dublin Society.
Mia is passionate about helping adults of all ages to connect with their innate creativity and she teaches classes in watercolour painting and expressive drawing. She is a member of The Teaching Council of Ireland and of Visual Artists Ireland.
As a practising artist, Mia works from her home studio in Kinsale. Vastly inspired by the natural world, she is wild about birds and captivated by the blues of nature’s palette.
She seeks to study and celebrate everyday moments of wonder, the privilege of witnessing local wildlife and the changing weather and seasons.
She has participated in many exhibitions over the years, and her work is held in both public and private collections
