We had the pleasure of hosting artist Mary Ffrench’s first decoupage class at the West Cork Collective in Ballinspittle recently. The class took place on a Friday evening when the shop was closed, which suited the attendees perfectly.
Participants said that Mary was very generous with her time, knowledge and tips and brought in some fantastic examples of furniture that she had previously decoupaged to give them an idea of what could be achieved. Mary supplied a great array of paper to choose from, along with a selection of new items such as coasters, photo frames, and little hinged boxes. These offered a bit more of a challenge, as well as all the other materials needed for the class.
Each person completed at least 2 items. Every participant from Mary’s fully booked class went home with a smile, along with their fabulous decoupaged items, after an evening very well spent. Everyone was delighted with themselves and would highly recommend this class to anyone. Huge thanks to Mary. As one of the participants, I personally really loved this class, and being able to attend in the evening is a real bonus.
